lucidity - at last

for those who know of my personal quest for lucid dreams they will be familiar with my endless scribblings of the previous nights adventures. this has finally (after a long three months) paid off, and it was a pretty surreal experience.

after getting loads of long, vivid dreams at the start of the year i decided to nuture it. this continued the phase and i continued to get more lengthy and fun adventures. i've got pages and pages of bullet-points from different nights, some of which had up to 7 dreams in them! each page unlocks a strong memory of a situation or feeling, it's quite nice too have all these interesting little things that can be easily accessed.

anyway, to the actual dream in question baby. was quite strange that i hadn't been that strict or precise with my dream recall recently and hadn't been really writing anything down. so it was basically out of the blue, which i suppose is relatively cool (you can judge that). but i did go to sleep very late, around 5am, which may have had an impact. for any of you who care this lucid dream occured on saturday 28th march.

but yeah, the dream, i'll cut out the beginning for times sake. me and some mates were bmxing round the back of some big concrete building and a security guard came up to us and accused us of having drugs on us. i just flipped out and chased him while shouting and managed to take him down. then went on to punch him in the face and the people i was with caught up with me. i asked them to get my jacket from where we were before but they arrived back with my blue and orange mishka crew, but i was wearing it already! so there were two of the same jumper. this made me realise, within the dream, that i was in a dream. it then also sprung to mind that i could now control it as it had become lucid. we walked down the path we were on and i could feel myself starting to wake up, but i didn't, and i stayed in the dream, which was now lucid.

i don't want to go into the specifics because for all i know a young child could be reading this. but let's just say it was fun but only last a few seconds, it then reverted to a normal dream, even though i was aware it was a dream, i was not in control. was stuck on some gardening website and needed to get off of it to find inspiration for more lucid adventures but i couldn't control it to get off of the website. so i guess this means the ending wasn't lucid, even though i was aware it was a dream.

hopefully more to come!

keep watch

volume seven of the Mishka keep watch mixes was put up today. i was glad to see (or hear?) that it is following suit with the recent installments - just a fab soundtrack to jam to. first four minutes were just great, but then it got into eastern jam and i ain't feeling that tune at all! sort of this big patch of crap in the middle of all this wonderful music.

also loved the chill moment about 20 minutes through, a nice little breath of fresh air. so peaceful. i don't have the determination to find out which song that is from right now though, maybe save that for a rainy day.

check out the mix here:

save the world

just been watching some old school jackass episodes and i was getting ready to film the 'shark ride' part because brandon's voice-over in that bit is just priceless! anyway, i was just sitting there, camera poised, and this advert popped up about global warming and there was this dopey donkey as the host.

he's just there, doing what i always do, putting recycle-able detritus in the necessary place. except he bit a banana skin and that's something you never want to do! mmmm, i can taste the bitterness now, mmmm! he seems really relaxed too, there's no rush. love his style!

but i was also thinking, was this animal treated properly for this filming? tried looking into it on the internet but couldn't find any results which amounted to anything spectacular. it would be sad to think that he donkey went through any suffering to promote a positive attitude towards the environment. this would be a counter-productive way to go about things.

anyhow, here is the video you've all been pining to see!

fight or flight

so i bumped into jamie on the way home while i was out on my bike. and we had a little chat and all that mumbo-jumbo. then i notice this tall, skinny man with trailer-trash clothes and he was walking at a high pace. he also had a strange smile, or smirk, across his face. my genuine initial instinct was that he was just leaving the scene of a rape. he seemed really cocky and too cocky. then he got into his car, that we were right in front of, and slammed down on the accelerator. his tyres screeched and he sped down the road.

i thought he was a bit of a moron so i gave him the good ol' v-sign after he'd gotten a considerable distance away. he didn't respond too well to this gesture (he must have been peering at us through his rear-view mirror). he hit the brakes and started reversing. i just soiled my pants and began riding as hard as i could. he then came round the corner and like pinned me but i turned the other way. i shouted to my brother to run to the house and open the door or just ring someone's doorbell in the hope that they'd answer and let us in.

i wouldn't have been so bothered if it was just some normal skinny trailer-trash man, but this guy just had an air about him, he was like a schizo and thought he'd just do something literally crazy. and all the time, jamie was just standing there, not acting, not doing anything, just chilling! i then rode past him and tried getting to the house, but the guy pulled up and said "ha, you would run if you ever did that again". jamie just gave him some aggressive back-chat.

afterwards i just reflected on how funnily i acted. but it was just down to how i'd seen him before the happening - total nutter!

mr fast flow

this guy has some sweet lines and he doesn't hang about either. this could quite possibly be a quicker method of travel than skipping (everyone knows that skipping is really fast!). the music is sick too! the whole advert has a great vibe to it - to go out and do what you can and have fun with what you've got. push the boundaries of your confinements and try something new. this could be the dawn of a worldwide craze. break a leg..

speedy chaps

just love the attitude of these guys. will hopefully be going new york city with jamie later on this year. if possible, we will also be participating in such activities..

streetz iz watchin...

the Google street view was launched in the UK the other day and it has had quite a lash-back. people are pissed that their face has made it onto a collection of pretty rad images on the internet. i, however, am yet to run into myself out and about on road but when i do, i believe it will be a good day. i would have liked to have had my image frozen in time for all the mindful people planning a safe, efficient journey to feast their eyes upon. but, i could be on there somewhere so let's just hope i wasn't indoors eating a baguette with houmous (or similar culinary delights).

one of the most enjoyable aspects is the appearance of a whirlpool due to a suspected drain-plug removal 'gone wrong' thus causing a strange vortex and the inevitable bending of space-time. but all jokes aside, the images are of high quality and zooming to-the-max can give you evidence that yes, it really is their house! everything looks buff, nice and summery too - the birds are chirping and the bees are out (both of these are assumptions, no images of bees have been found and audio clips are sadly not available). this gives a sneaky glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel for this harsh winter.

i like the fact that you can just cruise around in your own little car (albeit invisible), negotiate terrifying junctions and explore the cities of the united kingdom. it does have limitations though - and this really does cheese me off! you can't take every road! they are the best ones too - like oxford street and camden high street. these would have no doubt provided a rich yield of potential comical scenes. this is more than likely down to the pompous farts that don't want their eyes, nose and mouth recreated in pixel-form on the web. utter swines!

if you've spotted your lovely body bumbling around in a street then please do let me know!

supreme disappointment

the much awaited new Supreme spring '09 collection hit the stores a few weeks ago. me and joseph visited a few of their stockists up london to check out their lateset product. here's a few of our favourites:

i copped a few items but couldn't commit to some of the more pricey like the jackets etc. though they were nice! here's the shit i got:

i was disapointed that i didn't grab any more bits today when we attacked london with our wallets. i just wasn't amazed by anything else and didn't wanna break the bank on something i'm unsure about, you know?

on a brighter note. joseph made the painful decision to part with his cash and bag a pair of limited edition Vans era lxs in red and blue, made from a range of recycled materials, from polyester to nylon. here's a few shots:

my very first blog

hello pals! i hope this is the conception of a beautiful blog-child, for whom i will provide undivided attention and eternal love. i am making it my job, my career, my everything, to undertake this quite frankly discombobulating task. although it seems daunting, i believe i will be able to manage on my own, so you need not worry about my livelihood and overall well-being.

on a serious note - i received my resit results for the exams i took in january this year. i managed to obtain some relatively high grades which went a little like: 99% C1, 100% C2 and 100% M1. these contribute to my AS maths and were an improvement on all fronts, so i'm pretty stoked with that deal. but in other news, for my AS further maths i got: 78% FP1, 87% M2 and 78% S1. these are all lower than my previous exams taken for these modules, so i guess it's nice and lucky that they count for jack if your result is lower!

and just as you started to think it impossible, jamie is gaining headway in my new-found sport. he has the guts to do half bar-spins but i don't want to eat tarmac, just yet..! haven't really been out in a while though and need to start putting in more time for it.

peace out x
